have a friend who recently told me a story about a time he was driving
his truck....
he had hit a bump and blown a fuse in the tail lamp circuit.... he
stopped and temporarily fixed the problem.. then he stopped for a
burger.. on his way to the next place he wanted to go, he gets pulled
over for having no tail lights and eventually arrested...held in jail
for a month......he was a little bit upset at the truck not working and
being pulled over...He did pull over and stop.He tells me told the
officer he did not have time for nonsense and needed to get home... he
feels this was overkill

everyone has a bad day, which he was having, but no one needs someone
else (Police, courts, jails) to make it worse.

that is overkill for a tail light My friend tells me he pays about
$1400 per year in traffic tickets.. mostly speed traps......often he
says he is on a schedule and more concerned about making it to his
customer's sites on time.....usually on a freeway or highway...

I belive he is lying or just an idiot. He probably had existing tickets
or warrants and such. Nobody goes to jail for that little, Hell I had a
speeding ticket for 80 miles over the speed limit and was only in jail
over night. This guy did something. Resisting arrest can get you 30 days
if they are nice to you, usually it gets much longer sentences.
